Info about Skikda. Skikda is a port town located on the Gulf of Stora, in northeastern Algeria, home to a population of about 250,000 inhabitants. Until 1962, when it ended the Algerian war of independence, the town was known as Philippeville. His landscapes are characterized by hills and forests, with high cliffs either in the West that the East of the city. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate and the numerous beaches that stretched along the natural coastline, Skikda is becoming a popular tourist destination. The city is the third largest commercial port in the country after Algiers and Oran.
