Finnlines passenger-cargo vessels Helsinki-Travemünde. Departures daily all year round...
The big Finnlines passenger-cargo ships provide the most effortless sea route between Finland and Germany. Plying the route Helsinki-Travemünde-Helsinki, they carry both cargo and passengers and their vehicles just like car ferries. There are departures in both directions every day of the year.
Between autumn 2006 and spring 2007 Finnlines will operate two types of vessels on the route: the so-called Hansa-class ones and new ships, Star-class, in their handsome blue-and-white livery. The Hansa-class vessels each accommodate 114 passengers, compared with 500 on the Star-class ships.
A common feature of all Finnlines passenger-cargo vessels is a high standard of traveller comfort, in addition to which the fare always includes all meals for the full duration of the sea trip. The biggest difference of all compared with car ferries is the fact that all meals are free. No other shipping line operating services between Finland and Germany offers its passengers this benefit. It is especially appealing to travelling families, because a one-way trip between Helsinki and Travemünde takes about 36 hours. Thus the fare you pay for a ticket on a Hansa-class vessel includes all breakfasts, lunches and dinners for the full duration of your trip. Meals are not included in the price of a ticket for a pet. All Hansa-Class and Star-Class vessels have a specially equipped cabin for persons with impaired mobility and cabins for persons travelling with pets. On Star-Class vessels there are combined cabins in order to accomodate up to 6 passengers. All cabins have private facilities, satellite Tv, telephone and hairdryer.
