Information about Lipsi Lipsi or Lipsos is part of a group of small islands, including Aspronissi, Macronissi, Frago, Plavi, Calapodi. Like the other islands of the Dodecanese, Lipso also seems to have been inhabited from prehistoric times to the present day. Inscriptions and vases dating back to the classical period were found in various parts of the island. The proximity of Patmos allows us to formulate the hypothesis that Christianity has spread there since the early centuries of Christianity. Important are the monuments of the early Christian era, in particular a large basilica three ships with mosaic floors and battousselio baptistery, probably of the fourth century, and pieces of walls, architectural elements and mosaics ?atsadia, where today are the church of Agios Spyridon and Aghios Panteleimon. The area of ??the island of Lipsi is 16 square kilometers and the length of the coasts is 35 kilometers. In Lipsi you can find sandy beaches like Platis Gialos with its crystal clear and green waters. In the small natural harbor you will find the city with its white houses and the square. On the island it is also worth visiting the churches of the continuous stream of Catopanaghia built in 770, the church of Panopanaghia 1500 in direct current, and the most famous church of Panagia Tou Kharou where August 30 is the feast of the Virgin.
