Maritime connections to the Aeolian Islands include routes from ports such as Milazzo (Sicily) and, in some cases, from other coastal towns in Sicily or mainland Italy. Once on the archipelago, the islands are connected by ferries or hydrofoils, allowing fast and convenient travel.

In low/medium season, fares are often cheaper. Also, always check the updated schedules: sea conditions may affect departures.

On some routes, this is possible, especially when travelling by ship (not hydrofoil). In this case, you must provide the vehicle's registration number, make and model when booking. Commercial vehicles cannot be booked.

Yes. In the case of advanced pregnancy, we recommend that you present a medical certificate attesting to your fitness to travel in order to ensure maximum safety on board.
⚓Prohibition on disembarking with a car in tow

From 1 May to 31 October, there is a ban on disembarking on the islands of Panarea and Stromboli, while for Alicudi the ban is from 1 June to 31 October. For the islands of Vulcano, Lipari and Filicudi, the ban is from 1 June to 30 September. For the islands of Lipari and Vulcano, campers and caravans are only allowed to disembark with a minimum 7-day reservation at campsites or public car parks (or private and will park them permanently. Motor vehicles, mopeds and motorcycles belonging to persons who can prove that they have a reservation for at least 7 days in a hotel, non-hotel accommodation or private house for rent are also allowed to disembark. Those who have accommodation within the urban perimeter of Lipari and Canneto must demonstrate that they have access to private parking.
Vehicles, mopeds and motorcycles belonging to persons who can prove that they have a reservation of at least 7 days in a hotel, non-hotel accommodation or private house for rent are allowed to disembark at Filicudi. If the accommodation is located within the urban perimeter, they must prove that they have private parking. The restrictions are based on the year 2025 but will also be proposed for 2026 with similar dates.

Invoices are only issued for the following companies:
- Grimaldi Lines: follow the link on the ticket;
- GNV: invoices can be requested using the following link: https://booking.gnv.it/formfatc
- Moby, Tirrenia and Toremar: invoices can only be requested by telephone before purchase by contacting our call centre;
- Blu Navy issues invoices within 24 hours of ticket purchase by sending an email or contacting the company by telephone.
Invoices cannot be issued for any other companies.
