Halmstad

Halmstad is a town in southern Sweden, capital of the municipality of the same name and of the county of Halland. The city traces its origins back to medieval antiquity: a few kilometres from the present city, in the town of Ovraby, along the Nissan River, stood in 1307 what would later become Halmstad: there you can still visit the ruins of a very old church. The city celebrated its 700th anniversary in 2007.
